Kaisa van der Kooi, MD, FAAD, FASDP

Board-Certified Dermatologist, Board-Certified Mohs Surgeon, Fellowship-Trained Mohs Surgeon & Board-Certified Dermatopathologist

Dr. van der Kooi received her medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan, and completed her residency at Detroit Medical Center and Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. She also completed a one-year fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery and dermatologic oncology at Florida State College of Medicine in Tallahassee, Florida, and a one-year fellowship in dermatopathology at the University of South Florida.

Dr. van der Kooi’s extensive training and prior experience in medical dermatology, cosmetic dermatology, pathology, and Mohs surgery enable her to provide patients with highly informed individualized treatment plans and thorough education about their particular skin condition or disease. As a board-certified and fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon, she specializes in precise, tissue-sparing surgical removal of skin cancer. She is also committed to educating our community about the importance of getting skin cancer screenings.

She is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society of Dermatopathology, and the American College of Mohs Surgery.

Outside of the office, Dr. van der Kooi enjoys spending time with her family and traveling.
