Heather S. Barker, MD

Board-Certified Dermatopathologist

Dr. Barker received her medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine in Kentucky, where she also completed her residency in pathology and served as chief resident. She then completed a fellowship in surgical pathology, also at the University of Louisville School of Medicine, and a dermatopathology fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.

After completing her fellowships, she joined AmeriPath Southwest Florida’s team of pathologists in Fort Myers, Florida, where she also served as pathology chair on Lee Memorial Hospital’s Medical Executive Committee. Dr. Barker is pleased to provide patients with peace of mind through informative treatment plans.

She is a member of both the American and International Societies of Dermatopathology, the College of American Pathologists, the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology, and the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.

In her free time, Dr. Barker enjoys baking, knitting, reading, living the soccer mom life, and, most importantly, spending time with her husband, Luke, and their two sons, Declan and Caleb.
