Lynne has been a radiation therapist for over 40 years. Her interest in healthcare began in high school when she worked part-time in a radiology department, where the radiologist encouraged her to pursue a degree in radiologic technology. She did, and in her final semester of that program, Lynne completed clinical rotations in multiple specialty areas, including radiation therapy, where she found her true calling.
Lynne is a lifelong learner, earning a degree in diagnostic radiologic technology from Mercy Hospital, a degree in radiation oncology from Grady Hospital, a bachelor’s degree in biology from Greensboro College, and a master’s degree in liberal studies from Wake Forest University.
Before joining our team, Lynne’s clinical work included 13 years in Atlanta, Georgia, Seattle, Washington, and Charlotte, North Carolina. She began her career in academia at Forsyth Technical Community College, where she was a clinical coordinator and faculty member for nine years. Lynne then went on to become a radiation therapy program director for 18 years and achieved the rank of associate professor. Today, she continues to teach part-time online courses at several universities and colleges across Georgia.
Lynne was born in Rutherfordton, North Carolina, a small town near the Blue Ridge Parkway. She was married for 13 years before losing her husband to cancer in 2001. She had her battle with breast cancer in 2022 and is a proud survivor. This life-changing event inspired her to return to clinical practice, where she loves working with patients and their families, understanding firsthand that no patient goes through cancer alone. She takes great pride in always listening to her patients and making sure they know they are being heard. Her goal is to provide patients with a painless treatment option, a high success rate, and to “radiate” hope every day.
Lynne enjoys traveling, considers herself a “foodie” and is an avid Harry Potter fan. She’s grateful for her supportive family and friends, and her long relationship with her college sweetheart, who happens to be in the same profession and shares her passion for providing patients with the care and respect they deserve.
