Michael B. Morgan, MD

Board-Certified Dermatopathologist, Board-Certified Anatomic & Clinical Pathologist

As the Director of Dermatopathology, Dr. Michael Morgan leads our lab team in the microscopic analysis, diagnosis and discrimination of skin lesions. He is board-certified in both dermatopathology and in anatomic and clinical pathology.

Dr. Morgan received his medical degree, his internship in internal medicine, and his residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at the University of South Florida College of Medicine in Tampa. While there, he also served as Chief Resident of pathology. Dr. Morgan completed his fellowship in dermatopathology and a second residency in dermatology at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City.

For more than two decades, Dr. Morgan has served in positions of academic leadership, in pathology and dermatology, at colleges and universities including the University of Florida, the University of South Florida, Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, and Michigan State University. Dr. Morgan is a professor of pathology at the University of South Florida College of Medicine and a professor of dermatology at Michigan State University College of Medicine. He has lectured extensively at national and international conferences, and served as Editor in Chief for Cutaneous Medicine.

Dr. Morgan is also a regular contributor and editor to peer-reviewed scientific journals. He has authored or co-authored more than two hundred articles and has published five books on the subject of dermatology. Dr. Morgan continues to lead or co-lead investigative teams for numerous grant-supported pathology research studies.
